2009-2010 CAMPAIGN
The 2009-2010 Campaign was, as Thad Quarles, United Way Executive Director put it, "like riding a roller coaster." Exhilharating and scary all at the same time. Given the state of the economy, we were cautiously optimistic about the probability of reaching our fundraising goal this year. But in true Mississippi style, people from Meridian and the surrounding area continued to open their hearts and their wallets, and made this year's campaign a resounding success!
Including funds raised for the annual campaign, as well as those for the True Friends Endowment, the total raised for 2009-2010 was just over $914,000! We are so grateful to the people of this community, who recognize the need for the agencies and programs that United Way partners with.
These agencies provide vital services to our fellow citizens and change lives every day. They are a group of caring and dedicated individuals, who work very hard to make sure they stretch our dollars as far as they possibly can. One way they do that is by utilizing volunteers. All of them will tell you that without their volunteers, they could never do what they do. Not only do volunteers help with client services, but they also serve on our many boards and committees, helping to ensure that we are true to our missions.
To all of the people who contributed to this year's campaign.......
THANK YOU!!!
